This project was designed to give a voice to a growing part of the youth sector which has focused on impact of social youth workers in disadvantaged neighborhoods, and also offer the youth workers a platform to be able to contribute to social training in different European countries. It is in light of that effort and other previous projects that youth members of SKI believes they can contribute immensely to African diaspora youth organisations in Europe firstly by achieving this international Youth workers mobility of African diaspora based in Europe.
General objective were:
– To define the terms of realization of organizational and pedagogical autonomy more suited to the resources available on social inclusion learning, in order to expedite the development of the work for the sake of social cohesion, outlining new responses of 40 youth workers in contexts that justify the support to the people in the risk situation of exclusion living in social neighborhoods in the partner countries.
Specific objectives:
– To increase the capacity of 40 migrants youth workers on social inclusion to provide crucial support the community with few opportunities living in social neighborhoods.
– To establish complementary offer social inclusion curricula, in order to contribute to the integral promotion of youth workers to develop works in social neighborhoods as way to give better responses for Covid-19.
– To find strategies and measures to improve the access and permanence of the 40 youth workers in the integrated local system in the partner countries, reducing social problems due the lack of understanding and knowledge of social innovation.
– To implement 2 common projects at national and international level, covering youth workers in order to remedy difficulties of people living in social neighborhoods.
– To promote 6 local youth worker projects, where necessary and in the light of the resources available, the support during training, increasing cooperation between youth workers and the quality of social inclusion learning and educational actions.
– To promote cooperation between youth workers from partner organizations in order to enhance the social and pedagogical knowledge, in benefit of the quality of social supports for the good of the communities.
• First Activity – Training Mobility: Training for African Youth Workers on Social Inclusion (during 5 working days in Darmstad, Germany from th to 4th to 8th of May 2022). The training mobility was held in order to make sure that 20 African youth worker participants will get more capacity to understanding well how the social programmes in each partner countries and how it can be useful to support people that live in social neighborhoods. In this first moment of the mobility training project will used methodology of non formal education and had residential format where participants had chances to increase their skills on social inclusion.
• Second Activity – Training Mobility: Training for Migrant Youth Workers on Social Rights (during 5 working days in Helsinki from 26th to 30th of August 2022). This is a training mobility aimed to bring together 20 migrant youth workers in a single space to share their experiences. This activity had a residential format as well and non-formal methods divided into daily sessions where participants were given spaces to present and share their knowledge and at same time improve social rights capacity to support people at local territories. This training was held in Helsinki for a week and will count with 20 migrant youth workers in unemployment risk situation from partners countries.
Results and Impacts on the participants from this project:
– Developed strong commitment to work and support partner organizations to develop social projects in social neighborhoods.
– Became motivate to develop their own project related with social rights to prepare the local community to defend themselves related with social problems.
– Created their own ideas and project that support people with few opportunities living in social neighborhoods.
– Brought together more 100 migrant youth workers and other key stakeholders to work for better integration of young people with few opportunities.
– Created opportunity to cooperate with local governments and institutions to bring more social projects to the social neighborhoods as way to improve the integration of people with few opportunities.
– Created and developed more two social inclusion and social innovation projects that can be implemented by other immigrant organizations that work for the benefit of young people with migrant background.
– Promoted the results and impact of project that motivate other actors and organization to spread and replicate best practices implemented in the project.
– Became citizens that are more active in society and more interested to participate in civic and political decision making for their own social inclusion in society.
– Transformed the sense of belong from young people with few opportunities as way to make them feel that they are also part of Europe and European citizens.
– Increased the opportunities on social rights that bring better social responses and understanding on European rights systems from migrant youth workers and young people with few opportunities from social neighborhoods.
– Improved the social life conditions that allow young people with few opportunities and migrant youth workers to develop their own activities that increase the level of social inclusion.
